Is What You're Eating, Eating You?
Hippocrates, known as the "Father of Medicine", said "Let food be your medicine and medicine your food". I wonder what he would think about our current medical situation today.
Little thought is given to how food actually affects us. In his study of the human body, he observed that most illness could be explained. He believed that the body was designed to heal itself with a healthy diet, fresh air, rest, and a clean lifestyle . Somehow we've lost sight of that theory.
When we don't feel good, we immediately look to the medicine cabinet for a quick remedy to end our discomfort. We don't stop to think about what could be causing the problem. Maybe it was last nights spicy dinner or the fact that you didn't get enough sleep. Maybe it's the stress you've been under. Take time to listen to what your body is saying to you. Begin to see the connection between your diet and lifestyle and how you feel. Do you need to make some changes to improve your overall health? You see, the food you eat can be either medicine or poison. So what's eating you?
