My Favorite
Kitchen Tools
We all have those things we can't do without. Using the right tools for the right job makes life so much easier, and in the kitchen it's essential. For me to pull the trigger and make a purchase, it's got to be something that I'm going to use regularly and saves me time.
There's nothing like Sunday brunch with hot, delicious waffles. I've tried several brands including more expensive ones, but I was always disappointed.
The Cuisinart Waffle iron gives you crisp, golden brown waffles every time. You can also flip the steel plates over to make grilled cheese sandwiches. This is a keeper.
Have you burned the bottom of a kettle or pot when you were boiling water because you forgot about it?
Not anymore!!! This stainless steel electric kettle heats water fast, automatically shuts off, and keeps the water hot.
One appliance that has prime real-estate in my kitchen is my Blendtec blender.
With it I make my smoothies, salad dressing, chocolate mousse, muffin batter, soup, and more. I also grind oats for flour and make nut butters.
Can your blender do that?
For years I only had a small hand mixer, but OMG, this thing is amazing. I love being able to turn it on and walk away. It has a splatter guard to keep the contents in the mixer, and not all over the walls and counters.
I make desserts, but lately I've been making whipped body butters. A hand mixer would take twice as long.
This is one of my absolute favorites because I use it practically everyday. I put leftovers in the stainless steel container after dinner and put it in the fridge.
In the morning, I take it to work and plug it in an hour before lunch. In no time I have a pipping hot lunch.
This is an easy way to always have a healthy meal, and save money and time. That's a win-win.
I don't actually grind coffee beans. I use it for grinding flaxseeds and occasionally nuts.
To get the most nutritional value, buy organic whole flaxseeds and grind just what you need for a week. Keep it in the fridge or freezer.
Sprinkle flaxseeds in your smoothie, on yogurt, salad, granola, or in your meatloaf. Also, add it to any crumb topping. It's full of fiber and healthy fats that will help you feel full. It's beneficial for gut and heart health.
Plastic containers have been shown to contain harmful chemicals that can be damaging to your health.
I prefer to use glass to store food. My Snapware containers have been a wonderful addition to my kitchen. They're great for leftovers and can be put in the freezer. I like that you can write the contents and date directly on the lid. No more mystery food in the freezer.
I love using my pre-seasoned cast iron grill. It's perfect for grilling vegetables and meat. It goes right on top of two burners and heats evenly.
Flip it, and you can make pancakes, tortillas, and sandwiches. It's very sturdy and easy to clean.
When shopping for any item, always read the reviews and see what others are saying about a product before you purchase. Pay close attention to the size and diameter, so you're not surprised when it arrives.
With the right tools, and practice and patience, cooking will become much easier.
